Hair we go…

I had never experienced the pleasure of getting my hair “did” at a Blow Dry bar before so, I thought what better opportunity than for the Nelly.com party a couple of weeks ago. The Hershesons Blow Dry Bar I visited is tucked away in the basement of London’s fashion mecca, Topshop Oxford Circus. (For a full list of the other Hershesons salons click here)

You basically book an appointment, choose from one of 11 styles, and a stylist will recreate the look for you in 30 minutes. Genius!

I never do anything remotely interesting with my hair. It’s probably fair to say that I have become stuck in a rut and very lazy when it comes to my hair. It takes enough time and energy to get my outfits right, and after make up and nails.. well, hair just gets pushed right to the bottom of the priority list. For the Nelly launch party I thought it was about time I did something different, so after perusing the different styles on the website, I decided to go for an up do, the Carlam.

My stylist, Ava, was one of the friendliest hair stylists I’ve ever met, and so professional with it. She managed to create ‘The Carlam’ in a matter of minutes, but at no point did I feel like she was rushing to get it finished. She took care to make sure both of us were happy with the finished result, which I found very impressive! The cost for all of the styles is a set £24, which I thought was incredibly reasonable.

See below for some photos of how ‘The Carlam’ was translated to my hair.. I had lots of compliments on it so I think I will definitely start experimenting more with my hair. I think I might also have to pay another visit to the blow dry bar, I have my eye on the B-52 next…
